Create Construction started their P2BS journey in February 2015 when the business supported the NWCSG Showcase event. This event was a mock trail, held in a court room, covering the legal consequences following a fall from height. Jason closed this event demonstrating the personal consequences following a similar event.
The Directors and Senior Managers of Create, who attended the event witnessed first-hand the emotional impact Jason’s story had and therefore, the owners of the business, made the decision to embark on their own Proud2bSafe Journey. This commenced immediately by inviting Jason to a number of our live construction sites to tell “his story” to the workforce. These sessions have not only been attended by Create staff but also large numbers from our supply chain, including members of our Client’s Teams.
After delivering and arranging various training events previously, I can honestly say that no other training has been received in the same way. Jason’s story is truly captivating and everyone has been completely engaged from start to end and the realisation on how easily something can go wrong has had an immediate impact on ALL those in attendance.
Following the sessions, the business has seen an immediate change in its safety culture and the behaviours of those working on our projects has dramatically improved. We now see our workforce working together, carrying out good safety practices and the safe attitudes are becoming fully engrained. However, the safety and wellbeing of those involved in our works is paramount to the business and therefore, we are fully committed to continuing on this journey, to continue in improving on the behavioural culture across all our projects.
